Dr Megan Vercaigne graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph Ontario in 2013. She has spent many years in Guelph as she also completed her Biology degree at the University of Guelph. Dr Vercaigne wanted to be a veterinarian since she was very young, which she can attribute to growing up on a small farm near Barrie Ontario where she spent most of her free time with chickens, pigs, goats, and fostering shelter cats. After obtaining her veterinary degree she started working at Beattie Pet Hospital in 2013 for two years. She then went on an American adventure and moved to Bloomington, Indiana with her husband for two years. Dr Vercaigne returned to Beattie Pet Hospital in 2017 when her family returned to Hamilton, she could not wait to see all of her old patients at Beatties again! Dr Vercaigne believes the human-animal bond is one of the greatest gifts and finds it a privilege to help owners and pets live long, happy and healthy lives together.
During her free time Dr Vercaigne loves to go long walks with her husband and son and their three-legged rescue dog Karma. She also likes to spend time gardening, painting, running, biking, and watching netflix with her two cats, Guinness and Darth Vader.
